The paper by Gary McLean, Adam Martin, Yueke Zhang, Rene Ndoyi and Julian Winer is the first to evaluate the recently-launched PremaLabs Diagnostics Covid-19 Neutralising Antibody (NAb) test. The paper, which can be accessed via https://www.mdpi.com/2076-393X/10/12/2149 concludes: “This point-of-care diagnostic test is useful for rapid population screening and includes the use of capillary blood samples. Furthermore, it provides results for SARS-CoV-2 NAb in 15 min, which can inform immediate decisions regarding protective immunity levels and the need for continued COVID immunisations.”
Lead author Professor Gary McLean, Professor of Molecular Immunology at London Metropolitan University and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London, said: “This is a landmark evaluating not only the PremaLabs Diagnostics technology but also demonstrating the utility of point-of-care testing for determination of COVID vaccine efficacy.”
