Clinical significance of test
Glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1c) is the combination of haemoglobin and glucose in red blood cells. This reflects the average blood glucose level of patients in the past 2-3 months. The HbA1c test measures the amount of blood sugar (glucose) attached to haemoglobin and can be a marker of diabetes or prediabetes.
